Women in Cybersecurity
WiCyS is the only international non-profit organization dedicated to bringing together women in cybersecurity from academia, research and industry. We share knowledge, experience, networking and mentoring. The initiative was created through an NSF grant (Award #1303441) by Dr. Ambareen Siraj at Tennessee Tech University in 2012, and has grown into a wonderful alliance among academia, government and industry.
Our Chapter
WiCyS at RIT is an interest program of RITSEC, established in 2019. We have meetings every week during which we hold workshops, alumni talks, sponsor visits, career panels and talks focused on diversity in the security industry.
The RIT WiCyS Chapter spoke at the 2020 WiCyS Student Chapter Meetup to share our successes and advice with chapters at other schools. Additionally, the RIT WiCyS Chapter was awarded Best Student Chapter at the 2022 WiCyS Conference.
